“Moto” I’ve learned means “middle of town.” This is the meaning behind Gensler’s latest residential apartment building in Capital Hill, 8th and Sherman, to be specific.
Cap Hill is the heart of Denver. It has character. It has history. It was once home to the city’s most influential and wealthy. It sits on a hill. And the capital is there. But lately, so it seams to me, it’s been widely forgotten as other neighborhoods, RiNOW, LoHi, SoDoSoPa, etc… have exploded.
Its nice to see investment in “CaHi!?!?” with MOTO. It is a model for urban infill done right. Prior to being built, the site was an ugly parking lot. We certainly still have too many of those. Thank you MOTO.
The stacked container design is clean, makes sense and sits on a hill.
