I’m not much of an NFL fan, or sports fan altogether, but I was born and raised in Minnesota and will always cheer on the Vikings!
I’ve experience dozens of stadiums, mainly as a concert goer, and I have to imagine the U.S. Bank Stadium has to be the greatest game day experience in the league! I’ve been to three games now and I continue to be blown away by this magnificent, massive, sinister looking structure designed by Dallas based HKS. The design team hit out of the park, with their modern day take on a Vikings ship, to the massive glazed roof and entrances, literally bringing the downtown skyline right into the stadium.
The building is as advanced as it gets from an engineering and technology perspective, too much for a quick daily photo post, but I’ll refer you to this excellent piece published to Arch Daily to learn more.
I am interested in how architecture, specifically public architecture like stadiums, are designed to bring people together. I can’t think of a better type of building to invest in and celebrate. For my home state of Minnesota and all those that made this architectural master piece happen, I tip my hat - very impressive!
