Florescence

Florescence is a quiet celebration of renewal. Captured in the Spring of 2022 over the course of several evenings, these portraits of flowers were created in my front yard garden after long days in the studio. With clean backdrops placed behind each bloom, I sought to eliminate distraction and honor the form, shape, and gesture of each flower as a singular subject.

Spring has always held personal significance for me. After the emotional heaviness of winter, a season that often brings a deep sense of withdrawal, I look to spring as a time of reawakening. The act of observing these flowers bloom day by day, and photographing them in this distilled form, became both a meditation and a metaphor for coming back to life.

This work is about more than petals and stems; it’s about resilience, about emerging from darkness, and the powerful beauty of beginning again.
